Misc Armor-in Stuff

The new LPG forge.

Jeff's happy it didn't explode or anything...

One of Jeff and Ted's projects-a casting model for a TOMAR Anvil, or as I like to call it, the Gonzo Anvil. Actually, it looks to be one of the most worshipfully useful armoring stakes ever devised. Just about every piece of a harness is fit to be worked over this anvil somewhere.

Jeff, Nikolai, and Ted hammering in unison to forge a domed head on a large bolt for a dishing hammer.

Slight problem halfway through-look at the ground by Nikolai's feet. That's the head that flew off Jeff's hammer mid-swing! He's a real trucker, though-he grabbed another hammer and made use of the rest of the heat.

A joint project for Ted and Alan-Ted thought Gimli needed a spiffy new breastplate. He made a model from an old action figure torso and Alan cast it in brass. The end result was actually pretty cool, if you can ignore the humongous cheese factor. But the casting came out perfect...

And last, but not least, a big safety lesson. This is what NOT to do-tinker with an oxygen cylinder with a lit smoke in you mouth! Fortunately, this pic was (slightly) posed.
