ARMOR-IN AT TED AND ANN BANNING'S
MAY 2-3, 2003
Well, Ted and Jeff really have been working hard organizing the shop and building new goodies.
Ann really outdid the expected menu and fed us like kings. I greatly appreciated it as I'm sure
we all did. Meals were punctuated by bad jokes and the story of the US military's $8 million
Sodomax 3000. Don't even ask... Ann must be a very patient woman to put up with all that
nonsense... ;)
I had to leave Saturday night, so I don't know what went on Sun or exactly how many people
eventually showed up, but there was lots to learn,
watch and get into. Alan Bauldree made several brass and bronze castings while the rest of us
ogled the pile of stuff he brought for sale/trade/show, Jeff got the new LPG
forge up and running, we got a couple of new guys hammering, pored over Ted's library,
and generally created mayhem.
Unfortunately, I missed the pouring of a concrete walk down to the shop
area on Thurs. Oh, drat.
I'm not going to give a step by step run down, but I've divided up the pics I took as follows:
Alan making castings of Sutton Hoo elements-Page 1 (10 pics)
Alan making castings of Sutton Hoo elements-Page 2 (10 pics)
Alan making castings of Sutton Hoo elements-Page 3 (10 pics)
The burgonet skull gone bad-LOTR fans will like this one (3 pics)
Alan's etched stainless Sutton Hoo plates (3 pics)
War hammer fun (3 pics)
Misc stuff (9 pics)
